Over more than two decades, I have held leadership roles at data-driven, consumer-focused, consumer technology companies across the U.S. and Europe, including eBay, Linkedin, Netflix, ShopStyle, Styloko, and Vestiaire Collective. My career has centered on helping companies navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape, with a track record in educating the market on sophisticated shifts in online behavior and uncovering powerful insights.
Today, I am a Certified Ethical Emerging Technologist (CEET), serve as a data privacy advisor in the education sector, and hold multiple certifications in data privacy and cybersecurity, including the Google Cybersecurity Certificate.
Much of my work today focuses on AI adoption, education and adovacy. So, I like to share my personal position and philosophy around AI innovation.
And its a very simply one: We need everyone â and I mean everyone â talking about AI, debating its best use, advocating for and against it in schools, at work, and in government.
We need all of society to feel that they too have a voice. Because a technology build to mimic humans (and by using our data) can only work if you and your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, acquaintences, etc. talk about it.
So while I do advocate for good data privacy practices, individual automony, and hold positions including that I'm firmly against surveillance, I also love good faith arguments and debate and we won't get there until everyone speaks up.
âȘ Served as âChief Shopperâ for eBay's Shopping.com business, delivering data insights, trend information, and consumer online shopping tips via media appearances.
âȘ Introduced luxury online shopping search to the European market with ShopStyle.Â
âȘ Oversaw creation of one of the first shopping apps (the WantList) to use machine learning and computer vision technology to help users find similar products to purchase.
âȘ Led development of the first platform (Fashion Rocks) to give users the chance to shop social media looks. The launch was tied to the live Fashion Rocks concert event in NYC broadcast on CBS.
âȘ Longtime media spokesperson for trends, such as why China's Single's Day is so popular, why Black Friday gained traction as a shopping holiday in the UK, and more recently, how consumers can protect their data and privacy.
