Working to Build Public Trust in AI
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: there is no AI without all of us. Artificial intelligence depends on broad human participation, which means every institution, community, and family is already a stakeholder in how AI shapes our shared future.
I am a writer, advisor, and *human-centered* technology advocate working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data privacy, and public trust. With decades of experience across the technology industry in the U.S. and Europe, and ongoing advisory roles with state and local education systems, I help institutions navigate AI adoption in ways that are responsible, inclusive, and grounded in real human behavior.

I work with institutions and organizations that are responsible for others (e.g., families, students, staff, or the general public) and are navigating AI-related change under conditions of uncertainty, public scrutiny, and evolving trust.
My consulting focuses on the human work of AI adoption: sensemaking, alignment, and translation—with the work typically begins after technical decisions are made. I come in when questions of values, responsibility, and lived impact come to the foreground.
Engagements are designed to be practical, short-term, and responsive to real-world constraints. These include:
This is a short consultancy engagement is intended to help organizations move forward with with clarity around AI use and/or policy implementation.
This engagement can be particularly helpful for organizations that feel stalled, conflicted, or unsure how to proceed with AI adoption—even after policies, tools, or guidance are in place.

This is an opportunity for groups to receive support to come together and consider AI in the context of organization values, and responsibility.
These sessions create a structured, thoughtful space for discussion—particularly where opinions differ or anxiety is high. The goal is not consensus, but shared understanding and workable alignment.

Formats range from leadership retreats to community forums, professional development sessions, and closed-door convenings.
If you’re unsure what kind of support would be most useful, a short exploratory conversation is often the best place to start.

My work focuses on the human challenges that emerge after technical decisions are made: fear, resistance, misalignment, and uncertainty about values, responsibility, and impact. I support schools, libraries, nonprofits, and public-facing organizations in translating AI policy and innovation into guidance that people can actually understand, trust, and live with — particularly in high-friction, high-stakes environments.
I advise on AI adoption, digital literacy, and data governance, bringing a practical, societal lens to emerging technology policy and implementation. My background spans executive leadership in global technology companies, public-facing spokesperson roles, and hands-on work shaping AI and data privacy guidance for large education systems.
I am the author of AI for Families: Ultimate Guide to Mastering AI and write widely about the human implications of AI, technology governance, and digital participation. My commentary has appeared on global news platforms including BBC, CNBC, CNN Worldwide, Sky News, Fox News, and MSNBC, and I have been quoted globally, including by The New York Times, The Guardian, USA Today, The Times, Le Monde, and Forbes.
A Certified Ethical Emerging Technologist (CEET) with credentials in data privacy, cybersecurity, and responsible AI, I work across government, media, civil society, and industry to support ethical technology adoption and informed public engagement. Through my work with AI for Families, I translate complex technologies into accessible, human-centered understanding for everyday decision-makers.
I hold a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University, a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, and live in New York City with my husband and two teenage daughters.
